ABSTRACT

Alternate : As a result of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide, all sectors have been economically affected by this crisis. One of these sectors is automotive sector. The automotive sector, which constitutes 4% of the global economy, had to struggle with many problems in this process. In this context, this study aimed to analyse the financial performances of automotive companies operating in the BIST during the Covid-19 period (2020-2021) and before (2018-2019). From this point of view, the CRITIC-based COCOSO method, one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, was used to analyse the financial performance of companies. As a result of the analysis conducted by the CRITIC method, the most important criterion was the equity turnover ratio. The criterion with the least important was the economic profitability ratio. As a result of the analysis made with the CoCoSo method, FMÍZP and FROTO companies took the first two places in the financial performance ranking, while KATMR and BALAT companies took the last place. When the analysis results obtained with the effect of the pandemic are examined together, it is seen that there was no general change in the financial performance rankings between the pre-pandemic period and the pandemic period, and the pandemic did not change the financial performance rankings of the companies.

ABSTRACT

Investments should be decisions made by companies at a strategic level, aiming to maximize the return on invested capital. However, the evaluation required to obtain the best results demand, in addition to information about available assets, the ability of decision-makers to relate and weigh all the criteria that must be maximized or minimized to achieve the expected goal. This article plays an important role in supporting the decision making of a micro company, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, which needs to invest the available amount in investment. In order to obtain the investment alternatives, as well as the evaluation criteria, the Value-Focused Thinking (VFT) was applied. After obtaining all necessary data, the CRITIC-GRA-3N method was used as a Multicriteria Decision Support technique, with the CRiteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) method to generate the criteria weights and the Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) method, with three normalizations, to order the alternatives. With this, five ordinations were established, being the first three ordinations performed with the help of two normalizations and the last two ordinations being the arithmetic and geometric averages of the first three ordinations normalized with the third normalization. In the end it brought positive results to the microenterprise. © 2022 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

ABSTRACT

At the early stage of a major public health emergency outbreak, there exists an imbalance between supply and demand in the distribution of emergency supplies. To improve the efficiency of emergency medical service equipment and relieve the treatment pressure of each medical treatment point, one of the most important factors is the emergency medical equipment logistics distribution. Based on the actual data of medical equipment demand during the epidemic and the characteristics of emergencies, this study proposed an evaluation index system for emergency medical equipment demand point urgency, based on the number of patients, the number of available inpatient beds, and other influencing factors as the index. An urban emergency medical equipment distribution model considering the urgency of demand, the distribution time window, and vehicle load was constructed with the constraints. Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, at the beginning of the outbreak was selected as a validation example, and the Criteria Importance Though Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) method and the genetic algorithm were used to simulate and validate the model with and without considering the demand urgency. The results show that under the public health emergencies, the distribution path designed to respond to different levels of urgency demand for medical equipment is the most efficient path and reduces the total distribution cost by 5%.

ABSTRACT

Ayrıca geçmiş yıllara göre ortalama finansal performansı yüksek olan kulüpler, finansal olarak pandemiden daha az etkilenmiştir .Alternate : Financial management inadequacies in the football industry have enlarged concerns about the financial sustainability of clubs during the COVID-19. In this regard, this study aims to compare the pandemic period financial performance analyses and performance rankings of the four football clubs trading on the Borsa Istanbul stock market, with the previous five-year period. The study covers the years between 2016-2020. A method that integrates Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) and Gray Relational Analysis (GRA) techniques was used in the study. It was concluded that clubs whose revenues decreased due to the discontinuance of their activities during the pandemic acted more prudently in monetary terms. Additionally, the club with a high average financial performance over the previous years has financially been less affected by the pandemic.

ABSTRACT

Digital disruption was crucial to corporate success even before COVID-19 pandemic. The need for speed digitization has grown even more pressing since the pandemic broke out, exposing firms’ digital inadequacies and jeopardizing their operational performance. If firms in all industries are to survive and prosper in the new normal, they must undergo a significant transition. Domestic manufacturers aim to embrace Industry 4.0 technology to close the labor price gap and to be cost competitive. Internet of things (IoT) is one of the key factors in adapting to the new normal. In this study, we determine the criteria for evaluating whether IoT devices are safe and ready to adapt to the new normal. We evaluated eight different criteria and determined their impacts on evaluation process with a Fermatean fuzzy CRITIC procedure. Finally, we determined the weights of criteria. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
